Our Program

Pre-Primary Program: Pre-School and Kindergarten

Effica’s preprimary program is a three-year program for children ages 3-6 years old. The classroom is divided into areas of everyday living, sensorial, language, math, science, art, geography, music, and motor development. Each area is designed to provide a wide variety of learning experiences geared to the developmental needs of young children.

Children develop concentration, coordination, order, and independence through sequenced activities involving step by step procedures. They first learn simple then complex activities; concrete then abstract concepts; and logical ordering and progression according to the Montessori Method.

During the first year, children learn the ground rules and how to work with materials and each other. They acquire manipulative skills and build concentration using everyday living activities and sensorial materials.

During the second year, children build upon their basic learning, increase their motor skills, and are introduced to the areas of language, math, geography, and science.

During the kindergarten year, the child continues to develop writing, reading, and math skills, and works in specialized areas like geography and natural sciences.

Basic concepts in areas such as everyday living, sensorial, math, language, geography, and science are introduced to children, initially in a simple and concrete form, and later leading to complex and abstract tasks.

Children are also exposed to art, music, culture, and health/nutrition to enrich their learning process.

Morning Session:
8:15 AM to 11:15 AM

Afternoon Session:
12:15 PM to 3:15 PM

Full-Day Session:
8:15 AM to 3:15 PM

If your child is enrolled in the Morning or Afternoon Session and you would like ocassional or regular additional time at school, you are welcome to take advantage of additional stay at school per hour, within school hours of 8:15am-3:15pm.
